eHMI — Frequently Asked Questions
Answers for operators and production teams using EFAB tufting equipment.
19 questions in this category.
Operator interface and job preparation
eHMI is EFAB operator-interface software for tufting equipment. Its touchscreen interface helps operators prepare jobs, set supported machine parameters and follow production progress.
eDesigner and Robotuft Add-on focus on design and path preparation. eHMI is used at the machine to select prepared work, configure production and monitor the job. These products serve connected stages of the same workflow.
eHMI is used with eTuft and eSampler. The available screens and functions depend on the supplied machine and software configuration; ask EFAB to confirm the scope for your equipment.
Yes. eHMI is designed for graphical touchscreen use. Operators access job preparation and machine functions through the control interface. Training should cover the controls and procedures for the installed machine.
Yes. The New Design Wizard supports simple designs and is useful for plain carpets or sampling. Prepare complex artwork and detailed robotic paths in the appropriate design software before transferring the job.
eHMI supports a single-file transfer workflow, with relevant machine codes generated at the control unit. USB and network support are available. EFAB should confirm the accepted file type and transfer procedure for your controller version.
Yes. eHMI provides design and process previews, including 2D and 3D views for supported data. Review the loaded job and its setup using the procedure supplied for your machine.
Production setup and machine functions
Yes. eHMI includes functions for changing the design position, rotating and flipping. Check the resulting placement within the available tufting area before starting the job.
eHMI includes design selection, production scheduling and layer-order controls. Confirm the scheduling functions available on your system and review the intended tufting sequence before running the job.
Depending on the machine and tufting head, eHMI exposes parameters such as speed, density, pile height and cut/loop mode. Only settings supported and approved for the installed equipment should be used.
eHMI integrates with eDesigner for supported 3D designs. The actual pile-height effects depend on the prepared data, controller and tufting head. Confirm the range and combinations for your machine with EFAB.
eHMI includes cut/loop settings for compatible equipment, including automatic transitions from cut pile to loop pile and vice versa. This is commonly called auto cut/loop or non-stop cut/loop changeover. The supported transitions and available pile structures depend on the installed tufting head and controller. Verify the required setup for your application with EFAB.
eHMI supports a synchronized laser pointer and camera for precise positioning where these accessories are installed. Follow the supplied alignment procedure for your machine configuration.
Operation, monitoring and support
eHMI includes a Custom Tuft function for starting from a desired point. Use it only within the approved machine procedure and operator training. Ask EFAB to confirm its use for the particular job or repair requirement.
Yes. The interface shows production progress and monitoring information such as tufting speed and remaining time. The available information depends on the system configuration.
eHMI provides production-time calculations and remaining-time information, including per-color and total-process estimates. Actual completion depends on the job, production parameters and interruptions.
Yes. eHMI is used to change eSampler tufting parameters such as stitch rate, gauge, pile height and cut/loop settings. The available ranges are defined by the supplied sampling machine and head.
eHMI is available in several languages. Contact EFAB to confirm the languages included in your installed software version and discuss the scope of any requested adaptation.
Contact EFAB with the machine model, eHMI version and the task or issue involved. For a technical fault, include the alarm text and a description of the circumstances. Follow the machine documentation for operational and safety procedures.
